Pain and the Psycho Orthopedic doctor

My massage therapist today told me about a doctor who told his patient that her pain was psychosomatic.

He insisted that psychosomatic doesn’t mean the pain doesn’t exist, it just means that it’s imaginary. Like when someone loses a leg and feels phantom pain.

Then he congratulated her for otherwise being in great health.
So now we know that when a doctor says your pain is psychosomatic, the problem is YOURS to fix because he/she/it has no idea what’s wrong with you. (I’ve been there, and the doctor that told me that was subsequently invited by my town to speak to the elders on back pain. I feel sorry for anyone who trusts that asshole)
